SUMMER CANS

Develop a beer can that you’d want to pick up.

Freedom cans was our idea.

Bud didn’t want to educate, so we simplified.

We wanted to create something without dialogue for Bud Light. Doctor Zhivago meets The Road Runner was our idea.

"POLE!" named Best Beer Ad of the Year by Advertising Age magazine. Yay!

A whole bar suddenly applauds a beer ad? Yeah right.

What makes this one special for me was the reaction my partner Vinny Warren and I witnessed to it in a sports bar. It first aired during the NCAA basketball and Vinny and I went to a huge packed sports bar for a beer after work. We were getting our Bud Lights at the bar when suddenly the music from our spot filled the place. We noticed people in the bar were nudging each other to watch our ad. The ad played and the whole place laughed real hard at the spot and then did something I had never seen before or since in response to an ad: they all clapped. For an ad? It felt like we were being pranked to be honest. A whole bar suddenly applauds a beer ad? Yeah right. We liked that feeling. We wanted more of it.
